The 36th Admiral Swansea Bay 10k race and fun run was staged along the scenic sweep of Swansea Bay on Sunday September 18th 2016 in late summer balmy weather and saw 2 Kenyan and Run- Fast stablemates battling it out in a grandstand finish.
#TeamBreconCarreg!
Swansea Bay 10k fought off stiff competition to come second in the ‘Best 10k in the UK’ category in this year’s UK Running Awards. For that reason, Brecon Carreg Mineral Water have chosen the race as one of the challenges for their virtual running group – Team Brecon Carreg.
From hundreds of entries they chose a team of runners of all ages and running abilities to take part in the group. They each have the chance to run events across Wales, from 10k distances to half marathons.
Five of the team will be running the event – Hannah Green, Mark Fowles, Aimi Healey-Bracher, Jayne Edwards and Clair Houston. They all will be wearing their Team Brecon Carreg t-shirts so if you see them during the race, please cheer them on.
Along with a supply of water and a Brecon Carreg running top, the team also have access to on-going motivation through a private Facebook group as well as goodies to keep them going through the year.
For regular updates from #TeamBreconCarreg, training tips and general water-related fun follow ‘Brecon Water’ on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Admiral Swansea Bay 10K – Miss it, Miss out!
There’s not long to go now! If you haven’t already secured your place in this year’s Admiral Swansea Bay 10k, you’ve only got until 31st August to sign up. The race itself takes place on Sunday 20th September.
And it’s all over… a big thanks to
With the event now over we can take a minute to reflect on the event, to look at our triumphs and tribulations, but one things for sure, we couldn’t have done it without our sponsors.
So a big thank you to Admiral, Heart FM, Day’s Rental, Brecon Carreg, Amberon, and Subway. Recognition should also go to the Welsh Athletics and Run Britain for the race support that they’ve provided.
A thank you to all our volunteers that supported us before, during and after the race, whom helped guide and provide race event management.
Only a few weeks left to enter…
With only a few weeks left to enter, and only just over 4 weeks until the race, the training should really have picked up by now. You’ll be starting to see improvements in your pace, distance, and general health from the regular runs, and will either start to get butterflies, or excited. Either way, the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k is a great race, really enjoyable, and in a lovely location.
If you are feeling anxious, which I can imagine a number of you will be feeling like, then you should remember that the 10k whilst being part of a race series is also a fun run, for both the athletes, and casual runners.
